Front End Description
We worked with the client to provide them a branded look, logo, and layout that would span this site (main site) as well as other sub specialty sites. There are a number of custom elements in place including a jQuery slideshow, photo galleries, a custom video player layout, etc. This site uses BuddyPress and WordPress child theme based on the default BuddyPress theme.
Back End Description
This site has a number of custom functions including an admin panel for custom options (featured slides, etc), custom widgets, etc and uses WordPress menus to define all the menus on the page (top, main, footer). We also used custom post types for this site as well for events.
Lessons Learned/Random Thoughts
After building over 100 themes for WordPress – this is the first site where we used a child theme and it worked out great. Look for more in the future!
