WordPress 6.2 Available

WordPress 6.2 is the latest major release in 2023 and contains 292 enhancements and 394 bug fixes.

A few of the highlights:

  • Updated Site Editor interface.
  • Improved navigation changes with a new Navigation block
  • Better organization of all block settings
  • New header/footer patterns
  • Style Book (you can easily see how all blocks look like)
  • Custom CSS (easily add custom CSS to your site)

WordPress 5.6.2 Maintenance Release Available

WordPress 5.6.2 contains 5 bug fixes that affect WordPress 5.6.1.

If you have WordPress 5.6.1, it is recommended to update to the latest version in order to have those bug fixes in place. These are mostly minor fixes but if you use the Classic Editor – one of these bug fixes addresses the “Leave site” browser alert we have seen since WordPress 5.6.1.

This release should be installed for any site that is running WordPress 5.5. There are multiple block editor fixes as well as other important fixes for sitemaps, lazy loading, REST API, etc.

WordPress 5.5 Available

Auto-update plugins and themes, developer changes, sitemaps, lazy load, and block editor changes.

This is the second major release of WordPress in 2020 and it is packed of nice touches that help improve the WordPress experience for users and developers alike. With a big focus on site speed – I would highly recommend checking out the details about the lazy loading implementation. I would also recommend reading about the XML Sitemap implantation. If you have third party plugins that do either of those – it might be worthwhile looking to see if they are still needed.

WordPress 5.2 Available

WordPress 5.2 focuses on tools to performance and site security.

WordPress 5.2 adds in a few helpful tools for site administrators to easily debug any configuration errors by going to Admin > Tools > Site Health.

There are also a number of other updates for developers, new Dashboard icons, and accessibility changes that make this a great update for WordPress users.
